Kingsmead Day Nursery, Winchester was established in 1989. The nursery is located in Gordon House in Gordon Road which is located in the city centre, only two minutes walk from the High Street. There is a Park and Ride system in the City centre with convenient drop-off points. The nursery facility has full disabled access.

Gordon House has a garden at the rear for outdoor play which is secured by high fencing. The garden has recently been landscaped to provide a varied and interesting adventure playground with super-safe rubber chipped and grass surfaces. The River Park Leisure Centre is situated close by and we have the opportunity to use these facilities and the adjacent playground, park and river walks.

We cater for children from birth to 8 years of age. The nursery units are divided according to age and fully equipped to meet their ever developing needs.

At Kingsmead we seek to broaden and deepen children's experiences by incorporating all six areas of learning by the time they reach 5 years of age. This range of experiences is always considered in an integrated whole, even when split into subject areas.

We promote equality of opportunity for children with special needs and their families. We plan our program to extend the children's experience and knowledge of other cultures, languages and celebrations.

We monitor our practice and have regular meetings to discuss and decide how to improve our practice and procedure.

Prior to children commencing nursery we arrange a minimum of two visits to help your child adjust to the nursery environment.

Once your child starts, parents are welcome to contact or visit the nursery at any time.
